Product, Shopping, & Shipping Related Questions

Q:How long does the paint last? How many faces will it do?

A: It really depends on so many factors, that it's nearly impossible to give a real concrete estimate. For more info, check out this blog post I've created to explain the many factors that makes your paint stretch farther.

Q: When will I receive my order?
Q: I need my order ASAP. Do you do overnight shipping?
Q: Do you ship internationally?

A: Visit our shipping info page here for all the information on shipping!

Q: Can I place an order via phone?
A: Sorry, I am not able to process payments over the phone at this time. I use the Google Payments system for your protection and mine, so that you never have to share your sensitive credit card information with me. If you prefer not to place your order on my site, you are welcome to call me and tell me what you'd like...I will just still need to email you an invoice for your total so that you can make the actual payment via Google Payments. Or, if you have enough time, you are welcome to mail me a check or money order for your total. Orders paid by personal check will not ship until your check clears.

Q: Can I pick up my order if I live near you?
A: Sure! I am happy to waive the shipping costs if you live in or around the Twin Cities Metro Area of Minneapolis/St.Paul Minnesota and are willing to travel to Mound. Just email or call me with the item(s) you'd like to order. I will then send you a custom invoice (which will have no shipping) and give you an address where you can pick it up.

Q: How do I remove the paint from skin?
A: To make things super simple for you, all of our paint selection is water based theatrical makeup, and is made for skin. All you need to do is use soap and water to remove it! I find that it also helps it come off quicker to lightly swirl over the paint with your fingernails in the soap...no harder than if you were lightly scratching an itch. A common shower "poof" works great too! I've found that some yellow based colors tend to be a little more stubborn. Makeup remover wipes work great, too!

Q: Is your makeup/paint hypoallergenic?
A: "Hypoallergenic" means that something is unlikely to cause an allergic reaction. However, the US Food & Drug Administration (FDA) says that consumers need to realize that no federal standards or regulations exist that govern the use of this term "hypoallergenic." The decision to use this term lies with the manufacturer, and may be applied to any product without any demonstration or proof that the product causes fewer allergic reations than others. Basically, the term "hypoallergenic" has little meaning and is mainly used as a marketing tool, and it is impossible to guarantee that a cosmetic product will never produce an allergic reaction. The best way to avoid allergic reactions is to know what substances to look for and avoid. To help with this, I have copied the ingredient lists in all my paints in the next few "FAQ's". For more information on the term "hypoallergenic," check out this FDA page.

All of the Kryolan paints I sell have been dermatologically tested for safety. Kryolan has also recently become the first cosmetic company to receive a seal of quality approval from the European Center for Allergy Research Foundation. Click here for an article. In my 13+ years using Kryolan paints, I have never heard of anyone having any allergic reactions to them. I also have painted at several parties for children with severe food allergies, and they also have had no reactions. However, as noted above, it is important for you to know what substances you or your child are allergic to so that you can avoid them.

Questions About Hiring Me to Paint

Q: How much do you charge?
A: This depends on how many hours, your location, and type of event. Request a quote for your event here and I'll let you know!

Q: What is your experience?
A: I have over 16 years of experience as a professional face painter! Check out my face painting resume here! You can also see some of my clients' testimonials here.

Q: Can I see some examples of your work?
A: Sure! I have a bunch of examples here!

Q: Do you need me to provide you with anything when you arrive to paint at my event?
A: Nope! I bring everything I need to paint for your event, including a table, chairs, etc. If I think I may require anything, I'll let you know ahead of time, but in general I try to bring everything I need. I do this to avoid adding stress for the already busy party planner/host!

Q: Can you do custom designs?
A: Of course! The design selection I bring along to an event is rarely ever the same twice. I can customize my designs to match your party's theme, including characters, company logos, etc. If it's not on my board of designs, I love special requests!

Q: I'm also looking for clowns. Do you know anyone?
A: Yes! I can recommend clowns who do magic and balloon animals, and you can book them through me too...just let me know!

Q: How do I book you for my event?
A: Fill out the form to request a quote for your event here! I will get back to you with my availability, a quote and instructions to proceed from there.

Q: Will you paint free for a charity event?
A: I do thoroughly enjoy providing my services for good causes and do so as much as I am able to. However, please know that I do get many requests for this, and being a small business, I can only afford to do so many charity related events per year. You are welcome to contact me here though and find out if I am available and able to provide you with free or discounted service! As another option, I have put together a special Charity Fundraiser Kit package deal for just $23.99 which will equip you to provide awareness ribbon paintings yourself!

Q: Can I pay you by credit card?
A: Sure! Just let me know ahead of time when you book me if you would like to pay with a credit card. I will then send you an email invoice via Google Payments, and you can complete payment before your event date.

Q: When do I need to pay you?
A: Usually payment is due on the day of your event. Larger events that involve more artists may require a deposit. If possible, providing payment when I arrive is usually the easiest for everyone than after my time is up...I find that often times my clients are usually pretty busy with hosting the party when it comes time for me to pack up, and it makes it easier to get it out of the way right away, and you don't have to be writing a check while all of your guests are there! If you work for a company that prefers to receive an invoice or complete the event before payment, let me know and I am happy to work with your company's processes!

Other Questions

Q: I am having a problem with your website, or have found an error. How do I tell you about it?
A: Please contact me here!

Q: Why don't you have a phone number on your website?
A: A couple reasons. One, I run my business out of my home, and do not take orders via phone, so I don't have a dedicated phone line for it. Two, I am a mother of two toddlers, and if you have toddlers, you know they have some sort of crazy "mom's on the phone" radar. They can be silent for an hour, then the second I pick up the phone in another room they are screaming, fighting, injured, or needing a diaper. So, I don't post a phone to spare you from the background noise! ;-) I'm also much quicker to respond via email, besides the fact that it doesn't come with background toddler sound effects. However, if you'd prefer to talk in person, I'm more than happy to oblige...send me an email with your phone! I can call you when my kids are sleeping, or give you my cell and you can try me or leave a message.
