Looking for a henna artist for your event? We do that too! We only use safe, natural henna. Real henna is NEVER black! Genuine, natural henna is made using a powdered henna plant, mixed with lemon juice, sugar and essential oils. The paste is a dark brown color, and the initial stain is a light yellow-orange color. Over the course of a couple days, the stain matures to a darker color as shown here to the left. As you scroll through the photos below, you'll notice some pictures are with the paste still one, while others show the stain after the paste has been removed and it has been allowed to develop for a couple days.
The length of time your henna body art lasts depends on many factors, including how long the paste is left on, how well you care for it, and your own body chemistry. Generally it lasts from 1-3 weeks. The first few days your stain will darken and develop. The strongest stain should last another 2-3 days before it gradually begins to fade as your skin naturally exfoliates.
We have henna care sheets to give your guests with tips to help them get the most out of their mehndi.
